Antibacterial soaps may double the risk of allergies in kids

When parents wash their children’s hands with anti-bacterial hand soap, it is presumably in an effort to keep them from getting sick. Using anti-bacterial products can actually contribute to children’s allergies. There is a chemical preservative, propyl paraben, that is found in most anti-bacterial products that might make children more likely to develop both food and air allergies.
